this is blake mills. i’ve known him since he was 16. most days we get coffee together and talk about linen suits or how our jobs are similar. he has a record coming out soon and its fucking awesome, its a great feeling to have one of your favorite records be made by a friend. here are a few photos we shot at his house the other day. you can hear some of his music here.

I couldn’t decide if I should post anything about Dash on here and then I got this text from Sage… “Remember when Dash and I held you down and gave you a hickey?” I do remember that day and I’m pretty sure these photos were taken right before they molested me. Losing friends fucking sucks. You will be missed Dash.

This is an out take from a shoot with Jason Mewes. I think I asked him to look like he was raped in the shower or something and was self conscious about his body. He reminded me way more of Little Nicky than Jay in real life. Super nice guy and at the end of the shoot he invited us all to come back sometime and watch movies…

To be young and in love.

When we arrived at Tommy’s house at 11-am he asked me if I would like a drink. I asked for a bottle of water, he came back with a Jager shot and a beer. I was impressed by his commitment to keeping a dream alive that I thought died 10 years ago. His party dream wasn’t at all depressing but inspiring. Here is a guy that probably spent his first 17 years of life conjuring up his dream scenario to include 11-am Jager shots well into his 40′s and now that he had it, real life was not gonna get in the way. Oh yeah, there was a framed check for a million bucks above the toilet that was only a few years old… I think he can keep it up for as long as he wishes.

The Roosevelt hotel’s room service can supply you with everything you need to give a friend a tattoo when all the tattoo shops are closed or you’re just too tired to leave your room. Dan was nice enough to donate some space on his chest so  I could prove a point one dark dark evening.

Jordan, Sage and myself shared a room in Miami for art basel last year. We learned a lot about ourselves on that trip that I think I will save for an exclusive post to mark the 1 year anniversary.

The blog has been extremely neglected the last few weeks and I’m starting to feel the urgency to get my shit together. Is it too late, will anyone still visit this thing? I have plenty of work related excuses as well as a new house, a girlfriend, dental issues and I’m writing this from England with some serious jet lag… Its too soon to start making promises but Im going to try and update this thing at least 3 times a week from now to forever. 

PJ came back to LA to try his luck with some crazy chick he met at a fashion show in NY. She has been in a bunch of movies, dated most of the front men in those bands that everybody was talking about as well as a pirate. I cant blame him for thinking that maybe he could fix her…

Sadly I will be missing Sage’s opening this Saturday but if you’re in LA you should do yourself a favor and stop by. Its only going to be up the 11th – 16th.

I have decided to bore you all with my first attempt at landscaping. Week one. 

The new house is finally being realized for its arts & crafts potential. I have given myself a mandatory 10 hours per week for making stuff that I don’t get paid for.

This weekend Sage and I worked on the book were making for the opening of his show in October. I love this man and I’m really excited to be making stuff together. Get ready world…

After Sage and I finished I went by the HOPE GALLERY to visit Cali and check out the new show by Ron Rege. Once again the Hope Gallery delivers and Cali puts another million under his mattress.
A picture by a blogger of a blogger shooting another blogger would usually be a little much but its the only photo I have that proves I was on the mean streets of Echo Park Saturday.
Jonathan Richman played 4 days at the Mint last week. I went Thursday and Saturday.
