The last month has been pretty much non-stop. We are on the final leg of the movie so I’m pretty much Ozzy 24/7 but I have managed to fit in some shoots that I’ll post as soon as I’m allowed to. Next post will be a ton of Tim & Eric shots that didn’t run.

I had surgery last week to hopefully change my life for the better. For the last year I have tried a bunch of different ways to reverse the problem without surgery to no avail. Last month I went to a birthday party where I happened to meet a doctor that specialized in sleep apnea related surgery. Less than 4 weeks later I was off to Cedar’s to have a bunch of my insides taken from me including my uvula, tonsils, adenoids, soft pallet and since he was already in there, he corrected my deviated septum. Dr. Nick named it the blue plate special…

Alexi came along to take care of me. Little did she know she would be stuck in a hospital chair for 30 plus hours as I puked blood after they woke me up. “Your body didn’t agree with the anesthesia and your stomach can’t digest all the blood, just try to sleep through this.”

48 hours post surgery I remember that I was supposed to be taking pictures…

In hindsight I’m so bummed I didn’t get more photos, my face and neck were so much more swallen than the photos show.

Cedar’s is down with the Jews and so am I.

Max Factor is a different story though…

After to putting in 30 hours sitting in a chair next to me, Alexi got a bed of her own. The most expensive hotel room I have ever stayed in and we slept in separate beds.

With the end of Cali’s old blog I thought it only fitting to pay tribute by sharing a little bit about myself today. Lately I’ve been getting messages from people telling me how much happier I seem in person as well as through this blog. I attribute said changes to the fact that 1. I’m older, 2. I have great friends, 3. I’m working on some really inspiring projects and 4. I really love my girlfriend. If you have known me for more than a couple years you know how weird it is for me to say such things let alone write them down to share with the internet. Whatever, I’m way psyched on my life and excited for the future.

The Roosevelt hotel’s room service can supply you with everything you need to give a friend a tattoo when all the tattoo shops are closed or you’re just too tired to leave your room. Dan was nice enough to donate some space on his chest so  I could prove a point one dark dark evening.

Jordan, Sage and myself shared a room in Miami for art basel last year. We learned a lot about ourselves on that trip that I think I will save for an exclusive post to mark the 1 year anniversary.

On October 13th I turned 30.

Trace just got back from Japan with a new hairdo and these amazing pocket sized flashes that sync to the flash on your camera. Harnessing light in the palm of your hand is what I can only assume it feels like to be a cop or maybe Jesus…

Vava is one of my favorite photographers he came to town to work on a new book project. I met Vava when I was a scared little kid in NYC. I have learned a lot from him over the years and would probably have a very different career if we had not met and more importantly if he hadn’t taken me under his wing.

Blake is home from tour and has posted a new AMAZING song… He is now getting ready to head off to NYC to defend his title belt in a guitar shred off… (seriously)

I’m not on the east side very often so its always special when I run into people like Rene who remind me that the world has way more amazing people in it than one would think. Rich Dad. Poor Dad.
