I went to Las Vegas with this guy for his 60th.

It was a surprise party so we took a bus to make it seem like he was working…

I bet the people staying at this place were way more fun than the rich Euros and Japanese business men that were everywhere at our hotel.

Did I mention how much I love Las Vegas? WTF? Only in Vegas do people hire people to come up with ideas this good… 

We never figured out if this dude was a guest or hired to make us all super uncomfortable. 

In 5 days this is all I could come up with… I’m never going back there.

This is an out take from a shoot with Jason Mewes. I think I asked him to look like he was raped in the shower or something and was self conscious about his body. He reminded me way more of Little Nicky than Jay in real life. Super nice guy and at the end of the shoot he invited us all to come back sometime and watch movies…

To be young and in love.

When we arrived at Tommy’s house at 11-am he asked me if I would like a drink. I asked for a bottle of water, he came back with a Jager shot and a beer. I was impressed by his commitment to keeping a dream alive that I thought died 10 years ago. His party dream wasn’t at all depressing but inspiring. Here is a guy that probably spent his first 17 years of life conjuring up his dream scenario to include 11-am Jager shots well into his 40′s and now that he had it, real life was not gonna get in the way. Oh yeah, there was a framed check for a million bucks above the toilet that was only a few years old… I think he can keep it up for as long as he wishes.

The Roosevelt hotel’s room service can supply you with everything you need to give a friend a tattoo when all the tattoo shops are closed or you’re just too tired to leave your room. Dan was nice enough to donate some space on his chest so  I could prove a point one dark dark evening.

Jordan, Sage and myself shared a room in Miami for art basel last year. We learned a lot about ourselves on that trip that I think I will save for an exclusive post to mark the 1 year anniversary.

On his visit he befriended Dr. Brian Cox who is the head physisits of the ATALS program. While Brian was in LA I got the chance to spend some time with him and get a rough understanding of what it is that he does.

CERN’s LHC is big and really expensive. 100 meters underground, 27 km long and has cost close to 8 billion dollars so far.

The LHC is operational and is presently in the process of being prepared for collisions. The first beams were circulated through the collider on 10 September 2008, and the first high-energy collisions are expected to take place after 6-8 weeks!

The real Ray Person (PJ’s character on the show) ended up being way cooler than PJ so Dill and I have decided that he will replace PJ in our friendship circle. I look forward to our adventures Ray…

Heidi had a birthday and a wedding this week.

This is Evan Wright. He wrote the book Generation Kill as well as some of
the scripts for the show. He spent a lot of time getting shot at to make
this all happen. I was looking for other stuff he had written the other day and
found this article about his past career as a writer for Hustler.

“I experienced a sense of numbness on Jasmin¹s set ‹ as I would on many
others ‹ that I can only compare to accounts I have read of combat. It was
the sense of being in a group of people deliberately and methodically
engaged in acts of insanity. Unlike in combat, I was not overwhelmed by the
horror of it, but by the grand-scale stupidity, which crystallized that day
as I stood by the craft-services cart. Boiled hot dogs on cold, white buns
were being dispensed. A man next to me politely passed the mustard. The
bottle was sticky with K-Y Jelly. I never attempted to eat on a porn shoot
again.”

This was also the night of Charlie’s homecoming. LA is once again blessed.

Rudy Reyes was one of the real Marines from the book but became the actor
Rudy Reyes playing marine Rudy Reyes on the show Generation Kill. Word on
the street was that he might get into a little bit of trouble for wearing
his “Blues” out that night…

Charlie has a 97 white chevy astro-van.

It is ideal for long drives to surf spots.

Since PJ plays a marine on TV he was able to get us passes onto Camp Pendleton Marine Base so we could surf really fun waves. Normally the Marines would frown at the idea of Charlie and myself anywhere near their base but today with Generation PJ on our side.

Sadly we did not have the support of Charlie’s van…

We had to push it off the freeway.

After much thought, Charlie decided that its the alternator and we should call for back up.

PJ also made some calls… His were to HBO demanding a car to come get him. So long buddy were off to the mechanics with some assistance from AAA.

Once at Steve’s Auto Repair we were informed that Charlie was right. The asshole alternator was the reason we would be spending the next few hours in LAWNDALE.

Steve ended up being a pretty cool dude and had one of his bros take us to Chucke Cheese’s for some beer and skeet ball.

Chuckee Cheese’s does sell beer.
