a few weeks ago i shot the fucking awesome fall 2009 look book in venice. the photos have been getting mixed reviews on the various websites that care about this kind of stuff. it seems that the casting of outdoor urban dwellers is cruel and insensitive… for the record everyone was paid for their time and they all enjoyed the process of the shoot.

dude these are so beautiful!! this is my favorite, i love this so much
I think you are a brilliant photographer! WOW!!
I-LIKE
I think the reason photographs like these piss people off is because they’re forced to look at people that are ignored on a daily basis. It’s uncomfortable and sometimes startling to actually have to pay attention.
Or is the problem more about the fact that they were included in a photoshoot that is advertising a clothing line?
Either way, if they were willing participants and were compensated for their work, I don’t see what the problem is. I think I left an @reply on Twitter about this at some point but the first photograph is my absolute favorite of the set.
yo, those are great shots. congrats on how well they turned out.
They are amazing pictures.. I love the last one it really is something else,
Love your photos, I acctually wrote about them on my site although it’s in swedish. http://snorstadsungar.se/2009/09/fucking-awesome-fall-09-lookbook/
photos are awesome, and to be honest, if 16 year old girls can be on catalogs with their tits hanging out, i don’t see why casting locals (that get paid!) is any problem. suck a dick haters.

I like this collection — the people in Venice add a real sense of humanity to these oversized tees.
The pics are fuckin awesome!! I’m sure that they enjoyed their day of positive attention!! Screw the nagging negatives.
My favorites are the close ups.
I saw the 5th dude down when I was at venice yesterday
I think these are great. These people are beautiful
