I used to make music videos before I started focusing on long form projects. Looking around the internet for some of my old videos today, I found that a lot of them are either really hard to find or only shitty youtube videos. In the months to come, I will upload all my videos onto vimeo where they can be seen at a much nicer resolution than youtube.
I shot this video at John’s house in a single day. He was not psyched on a film crew wandering freely around his house. John insisted that anytime something had to be moved, I must be there to supervise. After the shoot, though completely unrelated to my crew, something caught fire in his kitchen. John took the fire as a sign and swore to never be photographed in his home again. When I sent him a rough cut, he told me that it was his favorite video that he had ever been a part of… So we’re still cool.

I’m sorry to say that this is the exact conversation John and I had while he was on the phone in this video:
ME: Hi John. JOHN: Hi Jessie. ME: What did one tampax say to the other tampax? JOHN: I don’t know, what? ME: Nothing. They were both stuck up c*nts! JOHN: Um, Bye.
Thanks for the large resolution file. It’s beautiful…and that story is so weird, I don’t understand why people believe in “signs”.
wtf?
anyway, thanks for posting the video in good quality, I really love that song and his author.
what a beautiful vidio
i love rhcp!
People believe in “signs” the same way people believe in God and miracles and other similar things. Besides it’s a beautiful video. I believe it was the first song of John’s that I heard.
I really love this song. And you did a great job with the video – very warm and cozy and overflowing with records.
you made this video???
this is one of my favorites!!!! holy shit.
I love John’s music. Its so inspiring, and just great. Solo and with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, it’s all amazing.
One of the best musicians of our time, by far.
