The Hope Gallery had an opening for the TV BOOKS / TINY VICES show last week. It was great. For months I have been telling Cali how I wanted to make a zine of portraits of the people who showed up at the openings and for months I always seemed to be too “busy” to get off my ass and go do it. The days of being too tired/busy to shoot portraits on the sidewalks of Echo Park are over… Here are a few images of 300 I took that night. I will have a zine ready in time for the next Hope Gallery opening so come by if you want one.
Keeping the dream alive is a full time job.
Tim Barber is the guy behind TINY VICES and TV BOOKS.
Pete Weiss ended up with some of my favorite portraits of the night.
Dan Monick takes pictures.
Brendan makes me happy.
It does not get any better than Rene. Look at him…
Jessica Hopper as directed by Tim Barber.
The Youngest member of the illustrious SS FRIENDSHIP, Anthony Anzalone
Will Oldham was in Echo Park wearing contacts lenses… Will and I made a video together a few years back that I’m still quite proud of. You can see it here.
Rene and this youngster are the only two without some form of website in this post… Welcome to the future little one.
